How to Create and Configure Classes

Create a class in the Salon Manager diary and configure its tutor, columns, price level, service skills, availability and online booking settings.

How to create and configure a class

Follow these steps to create the class and control when and how it can be booked.

1Open the diaryOpen the Salon Manager diary.
2Open settingsSelect the settings cog on the left-hand side.
3Choose ClassesSelect Classes from the settings menu.
4Review existing classesCheck the current list before creating a new class.
5Add a new classSelect Add New Class at the top right.
6Enter the class nameAdd a clear name for the class.
7Enter the tutor nameAdd the name of the tutor responsible for the class.
8Choose the columnsSelect how many columns the class needs.
9Name the columnEnter a clear name for the class column.
10Choose the price levelSelect the appropriate price level.
11Select service skillsChoose the service skills that apply to the class.
12Set specific datesUse the date slider and choose dates when the class should only run for a defined period. Leave it off for an ongoing class.
13Set class opening timesEnter specific class hours when they differ from normal salon opening times.
14Choose available daysSet the days the class is open. Green means available and red means closed.
15Set online bookingChoose whether clients can book the class online.
16Confirm the settingsSelect Confirm when all class details are correct.
17Use the new classSalon Manager will create the class with its columns ready to use.

Review availability before confirming

Check the class dates and times carefully before confirming.
Only enable online booking when clients should be able to book the class online.
Use clear class and column names so the team can identify them in the diary.

Troubleshooting

Common issues and what to check

The class is available on the wrong days

Reopen the class settings and check the day colours. Green means available and red means closed.

The class hours are wrong

Check whether specific class hours were entered or whether the class is following the regular opening hours.

Clients cannot book the class online

Open the class settings and check that online booking has been enabled.
