How to Perform a Stock Take in Salon Manager

Count your physical products, enter the correct quantities and update the stock levels recorded in Salon Manager.

How to perform a stock take

Follow these steps to compare the recorded stock levels with the physical quantities in your salon.

Open Salon Manager
Sign in and open the main Salon Manager application.

Open Stock Control
Go to the Stock Control module.

Select Stock Take
Click Stock Take in the left-hand menu.

Select the supplier
Choose the supplier whose products you want to count.

Open the stock-take screen
The stock-take screen will open for the selected supplier.

Find a product
Use the search box or scan the product’s barcode.

Switch product ranges
Use the supplier line tabs to move between the supplier’s product ranges.

Check the current quantity
Review the Current Quantity recorded for the product.

Enter the physical quantity
Count the physical stock and enter the result in the New Quantity field.

Continue the stock count
Repeat the process for every product you want to update.

Review the new quantities
Check all the new stock quantities you have entered.

Save the changes
Click Save Changes.

Review the stock changes
Check the quantity changes shown on the confirmation screen.

Confirm the stock take
Click Confirm to update the stock levels.

Scanning product barcodes is the quickest way to find products during a stock take.

Troubleshooting

Common issues and what to check

The Stock Take option is not visible

Make sure you are in the Stock Control module and have permission to perform stock takes.

I cannot find the product

Use the search box, scan the barcode or switch to the correct supplier product range.

The quantity is incorrect

Update the value in the New Quantity field before clicking Save Changes.

The stock levels did not update

Make sure you clicked Save Changes and then Confirm on the confirmation screen.
