How to View a Report Explanation in Salon Manager

Open the explanation for any report to understand its columns, calculations and values.

How to view a report explanation

Follow these steps to open the explanation window and review the report details.

Open Salon Manager
Sign in and open the main Salon Manager application.

Go to Reporting
Open the Reporting module.

Open a report
Open the report you want to understand.

Find Report Explanation
In the top right-hand corner, click Report Explanation.

Open the explanation window
A new window will open for the selected report.

Review the columns
Read the explanation for each report column.

Review the calculations
Check how the calculations are performed and how figures are generated.

Close the window
Close the explanation window when you have finished reviewing the information.

Use Report Explanation whenever you are unsure what a column or calculation represents.
Each report has its own explanation, so the information is specific to the report you are viewing.

Troubleshooting

Common issues and what to check

The Report Explanation button is not visible

Make sure you have opened a report first. The Report Explanation button only appears when viewing a report.

The explanation window did not open

Click Report Explanation again and check that your browser is not blocking pop-up windows.

I still don’t understand a report column

Read the explanation for that specific column, which describes what it represents and how it is calculated.

The report explanation is different for another report

This is expected. Every report has its own explanation based on the data and calculations used in that report.
